A major shift in the weather pattern will bring wet and windy weather to Northern California beginning midweek and lasting through the weekend. Heavy precipitation is expected with high rainfall rates first on Wednesday then again on Friday.
Residents are urged to proceed through low lying areas with caution, as adjacency to the straight during high tide may slow drainage. Sand bag stations are located at the City’s Corporation Yard, at 2400 East 2nd Street, and at the East E Street parking lot across from the Benicia Yacht Club.
Public Works staff have already been cleaning inlets and storm drains throughout the City in anticipation of wet weather. They will also be monitoring the City for issues and addressing them for the duration of the storm.
For additional information, contact the Public Works Department, at 746-4296 from 8:30 to noon and from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. After regular business hours, please call 745-3412 and a public works staff member will be contacted for emergencies.
