We stand to lose our wonderful state park. Once again the almighty state has decided it is more important to feed the coffers of the special interest groups vs the integrity of our state and the people. Why is it every time we see the big deficit issue the best fix they can find is to cut our parks, schools and social programs?
Speaking of which and along the same line, why do the Benicia politcal power mongers want to risk losing our park? I can see,to a point, the importance of maintaining a building that was the state capitol for a few days. I am sure we have 20 or 30 people a week going up and down the steps. I wonder how many hundreds of citizens use the state park each day? Do they really think that a new million dollar bus and train station, that only politicans and their cronies want, is more important than our state park?
Is it too late to get out the torches and pitchforks before they sell our city down the proverbial river? Take the time to think about this and maybe fire off a nice not to your council member and our not so concerned mayor.
Have a great day
