5 Questions for JB Davis, Benicia Patch's Founding Father

JB is still with Patch, but his role has expanded.

As JB explained on Thursday, his role with Patch has expanded beyond Benicia. We asked him a few questions about his new role and his time in Benicia. Here are his answers:

1. What's your new role with Patch?

I am the business editor for the Bay Group.  I wrtie about business-obviously- as well as writing previews for City Councils and Planning Commissions in 13 cities.  I write a daily cop log for a few cities and handle social media for all the sites in Bay Group.

3. What story are you most proud of from your time with the site?

It was early in my career and I was eating dinner with the police scanner when the call came in about an armed robbery at the KFC.  I managed to get in the restaurant and talk to the employees while the police were still investigating.  Since moving on to covering other cities, I now have a greater appreciation for the relationship I was able to build with BPD.

4. What would you like to say to Benicia Patch's most active users?

Try and remember that everyone has been shaped by their own experiences.  Rather than criticize someone because you disagree with their notions, try and imagine yourself walking a few miles in their shoes.  When someone posts something you don't agree with, ask them -politely- to give a further explanation of why they believe what they believe.  What experiences shaped that belief.

5. What's your Super Bowl Prediction?

What? You think I have an opinion on pro football other than why watch it?  Oh yeah, there's no more college football until next Fall.  San Francisco 34  Baltimore 23.
