A Ship on the Strait: Overseas Anacortes

American made tanker delivers oil to Bay Area refiner.

The Overseas Anacortes is an American made, double-hulled product tanker managed by the Overseas Shipping Group.  She was built specifically to carry products between U.S. ports and although she spends her time plying the waters of the United States west coast, her home port is Wilmington, Delaware.

The Overseas Anacortes is the tenth  Veteran-Class MT-46 product tanker built at the Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.  She was delivered on September 1, 2010.

She was spotted west of the Carquinez Strait on November 15, heading to the Chevron Refinery dock in Richmond, CA.
