A Ship on the Strait: The Tai Health

After three days tied up at the Port of Pittsburg, this ship is headed to the Far East.

The Tai Health is a Panamanian flagged Handymax bulk carrier operated by Taiwan Navigation Company of Taipei, Taiwan. 

She was built by the Oshima Shipbuilding Company of Japan.  According to the Oshima website a Handymax bulk carrier is designed to carry products such as grain and iron ore. 

Typically a Handymax bulk carrier doesn’t exceed 190 meters in length.

The Tai Health is 190 meters (623 feet) long, has a 32 meter (104 feet) beam and draws 6.3 meters (21 feet). 

According to Shipspotting.com she is on her way to Zhenjiang, China after spending the three days in Pittsburg.
