Adoptable Dog of the Week: Maxwell

Great with kids and adults alike, this giant is looking for a forever home.

A volunteer had this to say about Maxwell, a dog looking for a new home:

Maxwell is a regal, gentle giant with a sweet personality that is sure to melt your heart!  But he's not one of those silly dogs who chases his own tail. He's more like King Arthur - a heroic, protector of the land. (OK, so maybe he's just watching for someone to come by with a treat, but he's always on the lookout!) Maxwell is great with kids and adults, and enjoys canine companions too. Stop by the Humane Society of the North Bay to see if you're fit for this king.

The Humane Society of the North Bay is open Tues - Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
They are located at 1121 Sonoma Blvd., Vallejo and can be reached at 707.645.7905.

Seems like most of the dogs there are pit bulls.

That's because Pibbles are the hardest to place. Previously known as "Nanny Dogs" because of their gentle disposition and protective nature, they've been maligned as mean dogs and are the victims of their undeserved reputation. There are no bad dogs; only bad owners!

Just put them down. You wouldn't have so many that way.

Absolutely! I've long been an advocate of putting bad owners down. Glad to meet a like-minded person!
