12:06 a.m.: Officers left a note at a home on Viewmont where a dog was barking.

2:48 a.m.: There was a physical disturbance on Dover between a man and a woman.  The woman did not want to press charges.

4:55 a.m.: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Carsten.   The vehicle was gone when officers arrived to investigate.

7:51 a.m.: There was a possible malfunction with a residential alarm at a home on Cambridge.

10:05 a.m.: Someone broke the back window of a home on West I Street

11:55 a.m.: Officers investigated the activations of a burglar alarm on West I Street.

12:22 p.m.: Police were asked to document a case of attempted burglary on Oxford.

2:07 p.m.: Police received a report of a solicitor asking for money on West I Street.

3:10 p.m.: Police received a report of a family disturbance on Campas.  The issues that led to the disturbance were resolved.

3:34 p.m.: A homeowner on Townsend failed to properly disarm the family burglar alarm.

4:22 p.m.: A citizen reported they were unable to get through to a business on Southampton Road and asked officers to check it out.  Everything was fine at the business.

6:31 p.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at a business on Getty.

7:01 p.m.: A citizen on O’Farrell requested assistance from an officer in verifying a vehicle identification number.

7:20 p.m.: Officers had a talk with the kids who were playing with a bow and arrows on East J Street.

7:31 p.m.: Officers documented a case of vandalism on East Second Street.

8:04 p.m.: Officers responded to an address on East Seventh Street where there was an unwanted guest on the premises.  Officers found a husband and wife having a dispute.  The report fails to mention if the unwanted guest was the husband or the wife.

8:28 p.m.: Officers were asked to document a case of vandalism on First Street.

8:46 p.m.: Police received a report of kids putting large rocks in the middle of Chelsea Hills.  The rocks were moved.

8:52 p.m.: A worker at a Solano Square business asked for advice from an officer regarding the work environment.

9:34 p.m.: Police received a report of a verbal disturbance on First Street but investigation officers were unable to find the disturbance.

10:31 p.m.: Police were once again called to First Street because of a verbal disturbance and again the people involved in the disturbance were gone when officers arrived.

11:42 p.m.: Police received a report of loud music on Buchanan but investigating officers couldn’t find it (the loud music).

11:43 p.m.: Officers were called to a park in the vicinity of Harbor Vista where a group of loud people were gathered.  The people were gone when officers arrived.

11:45 p.m.: Officers talked to the people who were the source of the loud music on Dominic.  They agreed to turn down the volume.

11:51 p.m.: Police received a report of a person urinating in a yard on East Third Street.  They were unable to find the person.

12:37 a.m.: Officers were called to a First Street business where a customer was refusing to leave.

12:46 a.m.: Police received a report of a physical altercation in Solano Square and that one of the people involved had brandished a knife.  Officers were unable to locate any of the people involved.

3:42 a.m.: Guests staying in a hotel on First Street called police when they couldn’t find their key nor could they locate any hotel staff.  Officers who responded to the scene helped the guests locate their key.

6:59 a.m.: A citizen on Military East reported a theft and an assault.

9:08 a.m.: A 31-year-old Benicia man was arrested on Hillcrest for domestic violence.

9:30 a.m.: A resident on East F Street reported the theft of a mountain bike.  Officers recovered the bike approximately 1 block away from the East F Street residence.

10:06 a.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a burglary at a business on Gateway.

11:28 a.m.: A resident on Dover asked police to help her recover a wallet taken the previous evening by a male friend.

12:30 p.m.: Officers talked to two people who were in need of counseling regarding some civil issues and proper documentation.

2:38 p.m.: Officers took a report on a possible narcotics violation on West K Street.

6:22 p.m.: A set of car keys was found on East L Street.

6:59 p.m.: Officers began an investigation into a hit and run on East H Street.

7:21 p.m.: Officers issued a citation for a parking violation on East E Street.

7:27 p.m.: A resident on East Fifth Street reported seeing a cooler surround by flies in a dumpster.  The cooler had a dead fish inside.

7:33 p.m.: A residential alarm was activated on Rose Drive.  Investigating officers noted that all appeared normal.

7:58 p.m.: A child’s purse was found on West K Street.

8:00 p.m.: Officers investigated an alarm activation on East J Street and found that everything appeared normal.

8:21 p.m.: A resident on West K Street reported a missing person.  Officers were able to contact the missing person and determined everything was all right.

8:24 p.m.: A resident on East L Street reported losing a wallet.

8:40 p.m.: A resident reported a car on East G Street was spinning its tires and burning rubber.  The car was gone when officers arrived.

8:52 p.m.: Police received a report from a citizen on West K Street that there was a stranger in the area.   Investigating officers were unable to locate the stranger.

9:19 p.m.: An employee at a business on Egret accidentally activated the burglar alarm.

9:29 p.m.: Officers were alerted to the presence of a possible drunk driver on First Street.  They were unable to locate the driver.

9:55 p.m.: Police received a report of a possible narcotics violation at a complex on Cambridge.  Investigating officers sound no violations.

10:26 p.m.: Police received a report of a speeding vehicle on First Street and were unable to locate the vehicle.

10:27 p.m.: The alarm at a business on First Street appeared to malfunction.

10:55 p.m.: A resident on Linda Vista reported seeing a man hiding in the bushes.  Investigating officers checked the area and found no one hiding in the bushes nor did they find any suspicious persons in the area.

10:59 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the loud people reported in the vicinity of Riverview.

11:12 p.m.: A resident on East Fourth Street reported someone was throwing rocks at their window.  Officers conducted an area check and found nothing amiss.

11:46 p.m.: A homeowner on East H Street failed to properly turn off the burglar alarm.

12:43 a.m.: Police received a report from a citizen on Oak that people were on the waterfront spray painting.  Officers were unable to locate any suspects.

1:07 a.m.: A citizen on reported hearing approximately 20 shots fired in the vicinity of First Street.

2:09 a.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at a city owned facility on Washington.  Investigating officers found nothing suspicious.

2:39 a.m.: Officers spoke to the hosts of a loud party on Military East and convinced them to turn down the volume.

 3:14 a.m.: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on East I Street.  The car was located and the person inside was helping a friend.

4:16 a.m.: Officers were called to Ardmore where a citizen reported hearing loud music and people.  An area check produced neither loud music nor loud people.

4:26 a.m.: A citizen on Southampton Road reported a man was banging on the neighbor’s front door.  Officers found no one beating on doors when they arrived on the scene.

10:54 a.m.: Officers began in investigation into a residential burglary on Buena Tierra.

 

11:40 a.m.:  Officers were unable to locate the youngsters who reportedly driving erratically on West K Street.

12:10 p.m.: Officers investigated a burglar alarm activation on Primrose and found nothing alarming.

3:37 p.m.: Officer talked to two people on First Street who were in the middle of a verbal altercation.

4:56 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the people who were reportedly setting off rockets in the area of Military West.

5:56 p.m.: Officers arrested a 47-year-old Pittsburg man for domestic violence.   The arrest occurred on East L Street.

6:13 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a neighbor disturbance on West I Street.  They warned the parties involved.

6:21 p.m.: A citizen on Denfield wished to speak to an officer regarding a family matter.

6:22 p.m.: There was a possible parking violation on West L Street but the people who were possibly in violation were leaving when officers arrived.

6:36 p.m.: There was a report of several juveniles involved in a verbal altercation on Rose Drive.  The kids were gone when officers arrived.

6:55 p.m.: Officers were called to Rose Drive where a citizen had reported a possible alcohol violation.  Officers noted that all the people who were drinking were adults and they were drinking in an area approved for consumption of alcohol.

6:59 p.m.: Officers talked to a solicitor who was working in the vicinity of Del Centro.

7:59 p.m.: Officers documented threats received by a citizen on Barton.

8:31 p.m.: Police received a report of a man sleeping in a car on Carsten.  Officers were unable to locate the man or the car.

9:20 p.m.: Officers were asked to investigate a possible court order violation.  They found no violation.

9:34 p.m.: Officers investigating an alarm activation at a business on First Street found nothing to be alarmed about.

9:51 p.m.: Officers had a discussion about traffic safety with the kids who were playing in a wheelchair on Panorama.

9:52 p.m.: Officers investigating a burglar alarm activation at a business on East Industrial found the business was secure.

11:02 p.m.: Police received a report of a customer disturbance at a business on Military East.  The customer left before officers arrived.

11:09 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to West K street where three people were reported hanging out near a closed business.  A check of the area produced no suspects.

 

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
