  • Keep in mind, power usage is at an all time high during heat waves due to the use of air-conditioners. High usage can lead to rolling black outs so do your part by not running major appliances like dishwashers, washing machines and dryers until evening. With the hot weather, you may even want to line dry laundry in the morning before it gets unbearable outside.

Whatever you do, stay hydrated with plenty of water. Keep a full bottle of cold water with you all day. If you will be doing anything outside, stay in the shade when possible and apply sunscreen often. Heat exhaustion, sunburn and sun stroke are real dangers in the heat.

Have fun, stay cool and be safe.
