Following is commentary by Patch poetry maestro Jeff Burkhart:

Those of us that know John Goory notice him quietly going about his business as he goes from place to place in his well-worn cowboy hat. He is a soft-spoken, thoughtful person, in attendance at every gathering that concerns the arts. If you ever run into him, you might ask him for a Tarot reading, for John is a longtime student of the metaphysical and spiritual side of the human experience.

His poem, “As The Sword Is…” deals with the cosmic duality of all living things. The Yin and Yang, the feminine and masculine, the ingredients for creation of all things that are alive and their equal stature, is the subject matter today so masterfully and simply stated in this piece.

Well, I see my commentary has exceeded the length of the poem it is about, so until next week be well.
