i moved here

because i was skinny

and needed to wear

sweaters

i moved here

because

i thought

the fog and

the cold

would trim

my way too

fast

so cal visions

i remembered the summer of love

and

gary ford

box shoe

bastard

who went

off to

war

while

i drifted

through

the

haight

inexplicably

to now

i have arrived

Today's poem is from Thomas Stanton and is entitled "san francisco poem-2013". I love Mr. Stanton's style. It is written the way we think. Stream of consciousness. Thoughts pasted together in the order they occur. One thought leading to another. Thoughts building and combining. A petri dish of feelings and ideas growing into something more as a whole than it's own component parts. What you see is what you get with Tom. A hippie....a beatnik.... a poet .......a builder of wood and words........a good read.
