i moved here
because i was skinny
and needed to wear
sweaters
i moved here
because
i thought
the fog and
the cold
would trim
my way too
fast
so cal visions
i remembered the summer of love
and

who went
off to

while
i drifted

Now that you’ve read the poem, here is a commentary by Benicia Patch Poetry Maestro Jeff Burkhart:
Today's poem is from Thomas Stanton and is entitled "san francisco poem-2013". I love Mr. Stanton's style. It is written the way we think. Stream of consciousness. Thoughts pasted together in the order they occur. One thought leading to another. Thoughts building and combining. A petri dish of feelings and ideas growing into something more as a whole than it's own component parts. What you see is what you get with Tom. A hippie....a beatnik.... a poet .......a builder of wood and words........a good read.
