The Hellespont Trinity is a double hulled crude oil carrier. She was built in 1996 at the Samsung Heavy Industries, Geoje Shipyard in Korea.
She is owned and operated by Hellespont Hammonia of Hamburg, Germany.
In December 2012 pirates attempted to board her but failed when the captain increased speed and began evasive maneuvers.
The Hellespont Trinity is somewhat unusual because her hull is painted white with blue accents. Most oil tankers are painted black.
