There are no shortages of bars and pubs in Benicia with TVs expected to be tuned to the San Francisco Giants' battle with the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the 2012 World Series tonight, Wednesday.
If you want a full dinner to go with your baseball you could choose Sailor Jack's, Lucca's or Randy's downtown. The Chill has a television and all that wine and for the connoisseur of the specialty mixed drink there is The Rellik. On the east side of town The Bottom of the Fifth will have the game and on.
Many of the pizza parlors in town have large screen televisions too.
If you're planning to watch the game, where will you be? First pitch is set for 5:07 p.m. at AT&T Park.
- Are you heading to a bar?
- Prefer the comfort of your own home (and the choice of Kruk and Kuip on the radio over Fox's team of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver)? There is a delay on the tv broadcast so if you listen to the radio broadcast you'll know what is about to happen on the television.
- Or are you big time and heading to AT&T Park?
The Giants stormed into 2012 World Series Monday night by scorching the St. Louis Cardinals 9-0 behind the undaunted pitching of Matt Cain and the mind-boggling hitting performance by Marco Scutaro. The Tigers, boasting Cy Young and AL MVP candidates in Justin Verlander and Miguel Cabrera, respectively, are an even more daunting foe.
