Day 6: Taco Jalisco Taco Truck Still a No Show

Columbus Day marked the sixth day in a row since local foodies have had a chance to dine on burritos and tacos from the locally famous food vendor.

The popular Taco Jalisco taco truck was missing in action again on Monday, October 8.  The truck’s regular spot next to the Liquor Warehouse on Military East was blocked by a gate and a picnic table beside the building, normally full with students and workers from nearby businesses, sat empty.

The owner of the Liquor Warehouse, Sunita Verma, says the food truck has been hampered by what some might refer to as onerous government regulations like needing a business license and workers needing government issued picture identification.

The truck’s owner did not return phone calls Monday from Benicia Patch and with city and county governments closed in observance of Columbus Day, it wasn’t possible to follow up on any of the rumors.
