Gas Prices Starting to Move Upward
The price of a gallon of regular is starting to move up in Benicia.
The full effect of the fire on Monday at the Chevron refinery in Richmond on the price of gasoline is still not known.
Update-August 9:
The price for a gallon of regular gasoline has topped $4.00 at two downtown Benicia gas stations and continues to inch upward at two others.

Bob’s Liquor and Food has the most expensive gas at $4.09 a gallon for regular. Chevron at Solano Square is close behind at $4.07 for a gallon of regular.
The Valero Corner Store and 7-Eleven both increased their price to $3.89 for a gallon of regular and the price at Union 76 is holding steady at $3.99 a gallon.

Update-August 8:
Gasoline prices have now jumped at all the downtown Benicia gas stations. The smallest increases were seen at 7-Eleven and the Valero Corner Store where the price of a gallon on regular went up $.04 to $3.79.
The price at Chevron in Solano Square went up $.12 to $3.97.
and Union 76 did not raise their prices on Wednesday and still have the most expensive gas in the downtown at $3.99 a gallon for regular.

In an article published by Bloomberg Businessweek, a Houston, TX based oil consultant is quoted as saying the price of gasoline could jump as much as $.10 on Tuesday in the Bay Area and throughout California.
Gas prices in Downtown Benicia are starting to rise. The price of a gallon of regular gas at jumped from $3.79 on Monday to $3.99 on Tuesday. At the Union 76 station the price of a gallon of regular jumped $.10.
Prices at Chevron in Solano Square, on East Second Street and 7-Eleven at Military East and East Fifth Street remained the same as Monday.
Patch checked prices between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m.
