A new restaurant opened its doors in Benicia last week. It's called “The Workshop,” and they serve up cajun and creole food, for dine-in or takeout.

Are you a fan of Cajun food? Have you tried The Workshop? Let us know below.

The eatery is located at 511 Claverie Way and they're currently open from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on weekdays. You can find them on Facebook here.

"My mom said your food is delicious!" said Erin Reid Marchi on the Facebook page. "[She] said she can't wait to take me there. Looking forward to it."

The restaurant is serving Chicken Mushroom Spinachoke Soup on Tuesday and the special is Breaded Pork Chops & Baked Mac N' Cheese. They have been posting their specials on their Facebook page regularly.

Wow! Just when my family and I are in the process of making Benicia part of our past, a new, non-routine, restaurant opens up in a non-routine location. We'll have to check it out. Hopefully, this place does not succumb to the Benicia restaurant curse.

What happened to the fish and chips place?

This place is way better than the ol' fish and chips place. Half the fat and twice the flavor.
