Need a Break From Politics? Raise a Glass and Raise Some Money for Charity

New downtown wine bar is giving half of the proceeds from Tuesday wine tastings to county food bank.

The presidential debate scheduled for tonight, October 16 will start at 6 p.m.  The city council meeting starts at 7 p.m. and then there’s the baseball playoffs that start at 5 p.m.

If none of those appeal to you and you are looking for a place where you can enjoy a glass of wine without a television blaring and a crowd hollering, Benicia’s newest wine bar, The Loft is the place for you tonight.

As an added incentive to get customers in the door on what is the slowest day of the week for wine sales, owner Jason Diavatis has an agreement with the Solano Food Bank to donate half the proceeds from sales of wine tasting flights sold on Tuesday nights.

“This is a business decision for us but it’s also a way we can consistently give back to the community that has already shown a lot of support for our new business,” said Diavatis.  “With the holidays coming up, this was one of the easiest decisions associated with opening the business.”

The Loft is open from 4-10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
