Power Outage in Benicia

PG&E is aware of the problem.

Update 3:40 p.m.:

PG&E is now reporting 64 customers remain without power in Benicia.  They are now estimating all customers will have power restored by 5:30 p.m.

PG&E spokeswoamn Brittany McKannay confirmed that the power outage is confined to the downtown residential and retail areas and didn’t affect customers in the Benicia Industrial Park.

PG&E is working to restore power to Benicia customers affected by today’s power outage.  “We were just able to restore power to 400 customers,” said PG& spokeswoman Brittany McKannay.

McKannay added that the cause of the outage has not yet been determined but that crews in Benicia are checking lines and then rerouting power to customers.

“Our first priority is to make sure the lines are safe,” said McKannay.

PG&E is currently assessing what caused a power outage affecting over 1,500 customers in Benicia.  According to information available on the outage map at the PG&E website power should be restored by 3:30 p.m.
