Your Industrial Park Neighbors: Dolan's Lumber

Manager says location offers full home improvement line, displays.

Q-and-A with Dolan's Lumber Manager, Andy Dickerson

Benicia Patch periodically talks with local businesses to keep readers informed about what is available in Benicia. Below are selected portions of an interview with Manager Andy Dickerson,  Dolan's Lumber, 4563 East 2nd St., Benicia.

How long has  been in business in Benicia? Dolan’s has been in the Industrial Park since 1988.

What do folks from Benicia say they don’t know about Dolan’s Lumber? Many say it’s hard to find us, or they don't know that this is a store location with full displays. Some don't know we serve all of Northern California.

When did Dolan's get into the business? Dolan's has been in the building industry in the Bay Area since the early 1900's

What is your most popular item? Doors, windows and lumber, of course; specifically, Anderson and Marvin doors and windows.

How do you get the word out to people that you are in the Industrial Park? We use local advertising and word of mouth. Other local businesses know we are here.

What is the best thing about having an Industrial Park location? Square footage. The owner had a vision that the growth opportunity would be phenomenal between 80 and 680. This also allows us to have room for displays. For example,  the deck display we are building out front.

As Manager, what would you like customers to know? My goal is to provide the best service available on the market.
