By Bay City News

Two young teenage boys, ages 13 and 16, were injured in a gang-related shooting in Vallejo on Wednesday night, police said.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Arkansas Street, Vallejo police Lt. Lee Horton said.

Two other boys, ages 12 and 13, were shot at but were not hit, Horton said.

The suspects, a 13- and a 16-year-old boy, were found walking on the railroad tracks around the corner from where the shooting happened, police said.

They fled when officers arrived, but were captured, Horton said. Police recovered a pistol nearby.

The 13-year-old suspect was booked into juvenile hall, Horton said. Police have not said whether the 16-year-old was booked.

"It appears that the shooting was related to street gang activity," Horton said.

The victims' injuries are not life-threatening, Horton said.

Police are not releasing any other details because of he ages of those involved, Horton said.
