Appreciation Day at Benicia Capitol SHP

   The Benicia State Parks Association will host Appreciation Day at the Benicia Capitol State Historic Park on Sunday, May 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. Cake and lemonade will be provided, and admission will be free.

   Present among the festivities will be vintage games including croquet on the Benicia Capitol lawn, musical performances from the Mark Boehme Trio in the Fischer-Hanlon House garden and Leann Taagepera playing the harp in the Capitol Assembly Hall, and free tours of both the Benicia State Capitol and the Fischer-Hanlon House. In addition, special guest speakers will be in attendance, including Benicia mayor Elizabeth Patterson, council member Christina Strawbridge, and Mono Lake Tufa State Reserve representative Robert Hanna. Other guests currently invited include supervisor Linda Seifert and California State Parks Foundation president Elizabeth Goldstein.

   Appreciation Day is sponsored by First Street Cafe, Sandoval's, Studio 41 and Olson Realty, Inc., who have donated both funds and resources towards the event's success.
