Santa Claus is Coming to Town

The jolly man in red is making a few personal appearances in Benicia.

It’s that time of year when Santa Claus is making personal appearances all over the place in anticipation of his big world tour that begins at nightfall on December 24 and runs through the early morning hours of December 25.

in Benicia on December 2 at the Plein Air Gallery on First Street during the Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting Celebration.  Benicians were fortunate enough to meet Mrs. Claus that night.

at this Friday, December 16; from 4-9 p.m. Santa has agreed to pose for pictures with the kids at this event as well.

“We’re fortunate to get to work with such a giving A-List celebrity,” said Engineer/Paramedic Jason Fein.  “A lot of these high profile celebrities want appearance fees and won’t allow pictures.  Santa is doing the whole gig for free and is only asking people to help the Benicia Firefighters collect items for Toys for Tots.”

Santa is hoping all the kids who visit him at the firehouse will help him and the elves in their quest to make sure every boy and girl gets a new toy for Christmas.

The firefighters will provide snacks, hot chocolate, and apple cider for guests.

Toy donations will benefit the Benicia , the Benicia Family Resource Center, and the Solano AIDS Coalition.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for the community and it’s firefighters to share in the holiday spirit, and, help make sure every needy child receives a holiday gift this season,” said Fein.

Santa’s next scheduled appearance is tonight at the in Solano Square.  Santa will be there from 6-8 p.m. and has agreed to pose for pictures with all the good little girls and boys.  He will return to Pizza Pirate on Sunday December 18, again appearing from 6-8 p.m.
