BMS Viking Band at Tournament of Champions Review

THE BMS Viking Bands excelled at the 25th Annual Tournament Of Champions Band Review in Fairfield over the weekend.   They took home first place trophies in the  Parade, Color Guard, and Symphonic categories.  Drum Major Garrett Wymer also took a top prize.  Jazz Band made an impressive showing placing second and the Drum Line marched their way into the third place spot.  Congratulations to all!

It was a full day of competitions for all our band members and 31 other high school and middle school bands which all competed.  Jae Phoenix, BMS Viking Booster President, said “"It is truly a joy to see how far all of the groups have progressed since the beginning of the school year. The best part is seeing the smiles on their faces, knowing how hard they all worked to get there. I would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the Benicia High School musicians. They not only give our kids something to aspire to, they take us under their wings, and engage and include us during the awards ceremony. Every time "Benicia Middle School" was announced, they were jumping up and down, and cheering right along with us!"

The Symphonic Band will perform at the Benicia First Street Holiday Event on Friday, December 6th and the Marching Band will be part of the Holiday Parade down First Street on Saturday, December 14th.  Be sure to come listen and support their efforts while being treated to some wonderful holiday music.
