Mona Small, 93, of Benicia passed away Saturday. She was born in Haddix, Kentucky and has lived in Benicia for almost 60 years.
Having worked many jobs, Mona was most proud of her work in a factory making Ordinance during World War II. She has been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and she was an avid animal lover. She was also part of the Rebuilding Together Program with Solano County.
Mona was the last surviving child out of ten and is survived by several nieces and nephews including Joyce (Jerry) Whittenmore, Dr. Jerre (Marci) Lender and James "Pee Wee" (Sandra) Haddix and many great nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Reception following at 2 p.m. at the Benicia Veterans Memorial Hall, 1150 1st Street, Benicia (lower level).
