Uh... Where is JB? These are terrible.
Justin Cox (Editor) January 23, 2013 at 10:23 PM
We've got an article by JB slotted to run tomorrow, so stay tuned.
Liz Edwards January 23, 2013 at 11:12 PM
I saw that JB was doing a police log report in Burlingame. Maybe he's moved on?
Justin Cox (Editor) January 23, 2013 at 11:48 PM
Yep, that's what his article is about for tomorrow. His new role at Patch.

"Reports of a female and her child asking for money. Police were unable to locate." How hard is it to locate an illegal alien holding up a sign that reads "NO HAVE JOB NEED MONEY RENT AND KIDS FOOD" standing on the corner of Southampton and the Raley's parking lot all afternoon while her 5-7 year old kid sits on the curb playing with her toys in the gutter?
Riley Willerson January 24, 2013 at 04:54 PM
And Jason what about the "white American" woman leaving her kid in the car and the white American male watching our school children and the white American drunks getting ready to fight..sounds pretty dumb? . See how dumb you sound when you target a specific race.
Kenny January 24, 2013 at 04:55 PM
It is not polite or pc to bounce panhandlers.
Riley Willerson January 24, 2013 at 05:04 PM
Jason seems that you accept the crime of legal residents, a crime is a crime, legal resident or not. I am no way supporting those who look healthy and panhandle, flip burgers, bus tables, get a job, but the haters in Benicia, so thankful a very small group. Benicia is a great. Community even with its very very small group of ignorant haters.

Bring back the old police logger!!
Joe Feltcher January 24, 2013 at 07:46 PM
Agreed. The new guy sucks. Unfortunately the old blogger was JB who has left us to fend for ourselves here. It's going to turn into "Lord of the Flies" here real quick. Someone pass me the conch!
J January 24, 2013 at 08:25 PM
I was thinking the PD didn't like his humor ;)
Justin Cox (Editor) January 24, 2013 at 08:31 PM
Thanks for letting me know I suck, Joe. Very nice. I see that JB had some fun with the police logs in the past. Is that what you guys are looking for? What I've posted here is just a digest of police calls and crimes. I don't get to decide how interesting they are from week to week, so that part is out of my hands. But I do play a role in packaging and delivering the information to the public, so let us know what you guys are looking for and we'll do what we can.
Justin Cox (Editor) January 24, 2013 at 08:35 PM
We didn't hear anything from the police about them not liking JB's humor. (Maybe JB has heard from them, though; I have no idea). But I can see where it is a delicate situation. There's definitely a way to be light and playful with some of these police calls, but there's also a fine line that shouldn't be crossed, out of respect for the work done by police and those involved in the crimes. We'll keep this stuff in mind when we do the log next week.
Scott Burford January 24, 2013 at 09:58 PM
Let's see, I'll bet you are the same "Jason" who posted last week regarding Benicia Schools: "If the district has $7 million to burn, use it to compensate for any lost state funds after kicking out all the trash from Vallejo." Yep, that's you all right. Stupid is as stupid posts.
David January 24, 2013 at 10:54 PM
His humor was good, but also it seemed the logs came more often with him in charge. We almost went a month without them over the holidays and still sparingly get them. And are those all the calls for the last few days? Thankfully Benicia is a safe town, but only two calls on the 20th?

I think we need these alerts more frequently. I don't care as much about the humor, but do care about what is happening in the community. JB used to send them daily through the week, and a combine the events of the weekend to send on Monday. Please consider following this schedule and put all events in the report (including barking dogs and false alarms!). Once a week is not enough.
J January 25, 2013 at 07:41 PM
Sometimes people just move on. JB was great I have to say, but maybe we should try and give the new person some time to get rolling. I agree that more frequent than once a week is a great plan. Hopefully it will happen.
