A bright blue Allied Waste truck caught fire Monday on Corte Dorado while collecting recycling.  According to Fire Captain Todd Matthews, flames could be seen coming out of the top of the truck when fire firefighters arrived on the scene.

The Vallejo Times Herald reports that the truck is powered by compressed natural gas and that the fire was burning close to the fuel tanks which are located on top of the vehicle.

Firefighters instructed the driver to dump his load of recycling in the street where they could get water directly onto the burning debris.
