Benicia Man Identified as Victim of Fifth Fatal Shooting in Vallejo This Year

Vincent Winnie, 24, of Benicia, was identified by police as the victim of a fatal shooting in the 1000 block of Caldwell Avenue just before midnight Thursday.

Vallejo Police Department officials have confirmed the identity of a man fatally shot last week was from Benicia.

The shooting occurred around midnight last Thursday, March 14 in the 1000 block of Caldwell Avenue and claimed the life of 24-year-old Vincent Winnie, according to a story published in the Times Herald.

A witness to the incident had Winnie in his car when he flagged down a passing Vallejo police officer, according to the story.

Winnie was then transported to Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Police then returned to the scene of the reported crime where, according to the Herald, they were able to locate and arrest Anthony Phillip Bradley, 28, of Vallejo.

Bradley was booked into Solano County jail. He awaits his Tuesday court date.

The Herald the shooting is Vallejo's fifth homicide this year and second the second this month.
