Benicia Police Log: Two Unlocked Cars Burglarized and a Dog Loose in Traffic

2:59 a.m.: There were reports of yelling on Buena Vista.  Investigating officers discovered a man had broken his hand when he punched a wall.  The man was transported to the hospital.

4:36 a.m.: An unlocked car on London was burglarized.  Some small items were taken.

7:21 a.m.: An unlocked vehicle was burglarized on London.  A small amount of cash was stolen.

8:20 a.m.: A 15-year-old girl was refusing to go to school.  She changed her tune after talking to officers.

9:22 a.m.: Police brokered a deal between neighbors on Gill.  They convinced one neighbor to take down the wind chimes at night in order to soothe the nerves of another neighbor.

9:27 a.m.: Officers were unable to find a dog that was reportedly wandering in the vicinity of Bradford and appeared to be injured.

12:40 p.m.: An expired credit card was found on McAllister.  The card was destroyed per instructions of the issuing bank.

12:49 p.m.: Yet another unlocked car on London was broken into.  This time nothing was stolen.

1:14 p.m.: Somebody tried and failed to break into a business on East Second Street.

2:31 p.m.: A burglar alarm on Cooper malfunctioned.

2:44 p.m.: Officers issued a citation to a car illegally parked on Cooper.

2:55 p.m.: There was a collision reported on the on ramp from Military West to Interstate 780.  There were minor injuries.

2:57 p.m.: A 33-year-old Antioch man was arrested on three outstanding warrants issued in Sacramento county as well as probation violations, shoplifting and check fraud.

3:19 p.m.: An alarm at a business in Solano Square indicated someone had left the store without paying for merchandise.  Store employees didn’t note anything being stolen.

3:42 p.m.: A kid riding a scooter on West Tennys was determined to be a possible traffic hazard.

3:53 p.m.: A solicitor on El Bonito had a business license but not a solicitors permit.

4:27 p.m.: Officers received a report of a solicitor on Regis.

4:43 p.m.: Officers received a report of a possible theft on First Street.

6:08 p.m.: A dog was running in and out of traffic on White Chapel.

7:36 p.m.: A kid was lying down on the sidewalk in front of the Post Office.  The kid’s parents were notified.

8:05 p.m.: A couple were having a heated argument on Rose Drive.  Officers checked and determined it was a verbal only argument.

8:19 p.m.: A burglar alarm at a business on Military East malfunctioned.

8:45 p.m.: A 22-year-old Benicia woman was arrested on Lindo Street.   Sonoma County  had issued a warrant for her arrest on a charge of loitering for the purpose of prostitution.

9:06 p.m.: A 41-year-old Benicia woman was arrested on a warrant issued in Solano County for driving with a suspended license.  The arrest took place on First Street.

10:29 p.m.: A 47-year-old Benicia female was arrested on Buena Vista for domestic violence.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
