Benicia Police Log: A Horse in the Park and a Car in the Wrong Driveway and No False Alarms

The following information was supplied by the Benicia Police Department, and unless otherwise noted, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

This is the crime bulletin for June 11-12, 2013 from the Benicia Police Department

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

6:43 a.m.: A car window was smashed on Warwick.

7:56 a.m.: Officers opened an investigation after a mailbox on Cooper was vandalized.

9:46 a.m.: Some parts were stolen from a car parked on Grove.

12:47 p.m.: A car was blocking a driveway on First Street.

1:26 p.m.: Police received a report of a possible drink driver on Southampton.

2:11 p.m.: The kids who were throwing trash out of their car on West Ninth Street were gone when officers arrived.

3:22 p.m.: The folks who were drinking in a West K Street park were gone when officers arrived.

4:50 p.m.: The kids who were damaging a lawn on Lindo got to talk to officers about how not to destroy a lawn.

6:34 p.m.: A 46-year-old Fairfield woman was arrested for possession of drugs.

8:49 p.m.: The family disturbance reported on Grove turned out to not be disturbing.

10:33 p.m.: Amazingly, the unwanted guest reported on East H opted to leave after speaking to officers

8:34 a.m.: A resident on East I reported receiving harassing phone calls.

8:42 a.m.: A resident on Lindo reported fraudulent charges on a credit card.

9:56 a.m.: That horse spotted in a city park left with its owner after police arrived and talked to the owner.

10:51 a.m.: A bog bit someone on Shirley Drive.

11:05 a.m.: A repair shop delivered a car to the wrong residence on West G Street.

11:31 a.m.: A business on Southampton Road reported a theft.  The suspected thief was gone when officers arrived.

2:57 p.m.: The boys skating in Solano Square were filming themselves.

2:59 p.m.: The injured bird reported on East L Street was merely stunned and did manage to fly away.

3:26 p.m.: The injured cat reported on Dorset managed to slip away.

5:11 p.m.: Officers assisted a citizen who wanted a vehicle identification number verified.

 

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
