Benicia Police Log: Arguments and Loud People on Military East, No Water Valve Robberies in Industrial Park

9:16 a.m.: The guy walking around on Getty with a gas can ended up getting a ride from his dad.

11:36 a.m.: A student at Benicia Middle School was cited for possession of alcohol on school grounds.

11:40 a.m.: Police received a report of a truck on East Second that had experienced a mechanical failure.

2:40 p.m.: Officers talked to an unlicensed solicitor on Hastings.

3:12 p.m.: Officers arrested and cited a 39-year-old Benicia woman for hit-and-run. 

5:26 p.m.: A child’s backpack was found on rose Drive.  Officers were able to find the child who lost it.

5:45 p.m.: Officers gave advice to a citizen regarding a child custody issue.

6:07 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into a burglary at a residence on Bridgeview.  They have no suspects at this time.

6:59 p.m.: A residential burglar alarm was activated on Rose Drive.  It appears the alarm malfunctioned.

7:35 p.m.: A boyfriend and girlfriend were having a loud argument at a residence on Military East.  After the arrival of police officers the boyfriend agreed to leave for the evening.

8:58 p.m.: Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on Hayes Street.

11:38 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of loud people in a parking lot on Military East.  The loud people were gone when officers arrived at the scene.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
