Benicia Police Log: Bumper Stickers Removed from Car, Drunk People Urged to Walk Home, No Mystery Alarms

12:21 a.m.: Officers arrested a 29-year-old man for impersonating someone else.  Once the man’s true identity was determined it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant issued in Contra Costa County.

8:19 a.m.: Police received a report of suspicious persons in a scorers box at a ball field on East Third Street.  The people were just hanging out.

10:48 a.m.: A business on Gateway reported receiving a fraudulent check.

7:32 p.m.: Officers spoke to the driver of a vehicle that wasn’t licensed for use on the street.

8:00 p.m.: Officers arrested a 24-year-old Benicia woman who had an outstanding warrant for a traffic violation.

8:09 p.m.: A car parked in the Solano Square parking lot was vandalized.  Someone remove the political bumper stickers.

9:31 p.m.: Police received a report of two people sitting in a car on East Third Street near the tunnel.  Officers determined that the two people in the car were drunk and encouraged them not to drive home.  The occupants walked home.

10:14 p.m.: A resident on Ardmore thought someone was tampering with the electric breaker box.  Officers found the box was secure and suggested the problem might have something to do with a loose wire.

10:45 p.m:  Officers were unable to locate a drunk driver reported in the vicinity of Columbus.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
