This is the crime bulletin for Saturday, August 17, 2013 from the Benicia Police Department.
12:12a.m.: Those cars spinning doughnuts on Rose Drive were gone when officers arrived to investigate.
2:57 a.m.: Police arrested a 25-year-old Benicia man after he was involved in a traffic collision on Rose Drive. Officers suspected the man was drunk.
8:05 a.m.: Police received multiple reports from residents on Oxford about their mail boxes having been knocked down.
8:25 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Bayshore Road business.
9:43 a.m.: Officers were called to a Military West bus stop where a bunch of mail from a Vallejo address was found.
11:38 a.m.: Police arrested a 31-year-old transient who was driving a stolen car and was in possession of methamphetamine.
12:27 p.m.: An employee of a Gateway Plaza business failed to disarm the burglar alarm in a timely fashion.
10:39 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a possible drunk driver reportedly driving on I-780.
11:05 p.m.: A citizen on East Second Street reported their wallet was lost.
Editor’s Note: Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
