12:47 a.m.: A 30year-old Vallejo man was arrested on East Second Street for drunk driving.

12:55 a.m.: A vehicle was towed from a parking area on Southampton Road.

1:29 a.m.: Police received a 911 call from Bayshore road but when officers arrived on the scene they couldn’t find an emergency.

2:09 a.m.: Police received a report of a suspicious person hiding from passing traffic on Chelsea Hills.  Either the person was doing a good job of hiding or had left the area because investigating officers found nothing suspicious.

2:56 a.m.: A cleaning crew apparently triggered a burglar alarm at a business on East Industrial Way.

3:21 p.m.: A woman on West L Street claimed her son threatened her.  After speaking to the son, officers determined no threats had been made.

3:33 p.m.: A resident on Columbus told police someone used his credit card to order items that were sent to his address but that he had no use for.  Police are investigating.

4:38 p.m.: Police received a report of a panhandler at a gas station on Columbus Parkway.  He was gone when officers arrived.

6:07 p.m.: Police received reports that the employees of a business were speeding down an alley.  Officers spoke to the manager at the business.

10:12 p.m.: Police received a report of a dog that was howling for hours.  A message was left for the dog’s people.

10:14 p.m.: A 37-year-old woman was arrested for drunk driving after being involved in a traffic accident on East I street.

10:20 p.m.: Officers searched for but were unable to locate a possible drunk driver on Interstate 780.

2:17 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Industrial business.

2:52 a.m.: Police received a report of two men in a Southampton Road parking lot.  The men were gone when officers arrived on the scene.

2:54 a.m.: Police received a report of two men walking into a business after hours.  The men were gone when officers arrived to investigate.

5:44 a.m.: An employee at a Bayshore Road business accidentally set off the burglar alarm.

9:14 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a city owned facility on Military West.

11:20 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Industrial business.

12:57 p.m.: A resident on Kearney failed the part of the test where the alarm had to be turned off in a timely manner.

1:06 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Industrial Way business.

1:31 p.m.: A man was spotted walking on the Benicia Bridge.  Officers were unable to find him.

2:50 p.m.: The owner of a purse left at a Southampton Road business was contacted and asked if officers could bring her the purse.  They could and did.

3:47 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Industrial Way business.

6:57 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a home on Greenbrier.

7:48 p.m.: A 48-year-old Benicia man was arrested for a couple of outstanding warrants stemming from 2 different drunk driving incidents.  The arrest took place on East H Street.

1:42 a.m.: A 57-year-old Vacaville woman was arrested on eastbound Interstate 80 for drunk driving.

2:28 a.m.: A mother and her adult daughter were involved in a shouting match on Lori Drive. The daughter agreed to go home for the night.

3:52 a.m.: Police received a report of a car alarm sounding on Military East.  It had stopped when investigating officers arrived on the scene.

5:51 a.m.: An alarm was activated at a home on West Seaview.  Investigating officers determined that the home was secure.

8:31 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Sprig Street business.

5:36 p.m.: Some tools were stolen on York.

6:17 p.m.: A 20-year-old Benicia man got caught shoplifting at a Solano Square business.  He was arrested and taken to county jail.

7:33 p.m.: A resident on rose Drive reported receiving threatening phone calls.

8:16 p.m.: A business on Southampton Road reported having some items stolen.

8:44 p.m.: The suspicious vehicle reported on Lake Herman Road was gone when officers arrived.

9:04 p.m.: A 27-year-old Benicia man was arrested for domestic violence.

11:52 p.m.: Officers investigating a report of a vehicle alarm sounding on Military East found a car with the trunk open but no sign of forced entry.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
