Benicia Police Log: Drunk Shoplifter Arrested, Noisy Kids Quieted

2:02 A.M.: Police received a report of a possible domestic dispute on East Fourth Street.  Investigating officers found no dispute, just a couple talking loudly.

6:07 p.m.: A business on Southampton Road thought a customer had stolen some items but it turned out the customer had paid.

626 p.m.: A residence on Cambridge was burglarized and a vehicle stolen.

6:40 p.m.: There was a report of a panhandler on East E Street.

7:47 p.m.: Police received a report of a possible missing person on James Court.  They were able to locate the person.

8:26 p.m.: A cell phone was reported lost on Military East.

8:46 p.m.: Officers came to East N Street where they spoke to a group of kids who were being very noisy.

8:58 p.m.: Officers were called to Currey where there was a couple was in the midst of a heated discussion.  Police convinced the couple to separate for the evening.

10:09 p.m.: A burglar alarm at a business on Bay Vista was activated but officers found no sign of a burglary.

10:21 p.m.: A 23-year-old Benicia man was arrested for commercial burglary and being drunk in public.  The arrest occurred at Solano Square.

11:57 p.m.: Officers began an investigation into a residential burglary on Chelsea Hills. 

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
