Benicia Police Log: Family Feuds and a Recovered Person

This is the crime bulletin for Thursday, August 2, 2012 from the Benicia Police Department. Click the "Keep me posted" button below for an alert when we publish this report.

1:42 a.m.: Officers responded to Clearview where a man and woman were having a verbal dispute. Officers spoke to both parties.

3:44 a.m.: Police received a report of a verbal altercation between a mother and son on Southampton Road.  They counseled both members of the family.

4:36 a.m.: An alarm was activated at a Military West business.  Investigating officers found nothing amiss.

6:09 a.m.: Police received a report of a man collecting cans on Southampton Road.  The man was gone when officers arrived on the scene.

10:50 a.m.: Officers recovered a person who was reported missing from another area.

11:48 a.m.: Officers arrested a 28-year-old Benicia woman on an outstanding Solano County warrant.

12:44 p.m.: Police received a report of a verbal altercation in the vicinity of West H Street.  Officers were unable to find anyone arguing in the area.

1:19 p.m.: Police received a report of someone leaving an unoccupied home on Panorama.  Investigating officers found no signs of forced entry.

1:38 p.m.: Police received a report of a mother and son in a verbal altercation on Raymond.   Officers advised them to contact the Family Resource Center to help resolve their issues.

 4:07 p.m.: Officers spoke to a solicitor who was working on Olive Branch.

5:44 p.m.: A residential alarm activation on Military West appeared to be a malfunction.

5:52 p.m.: A city employee accidentally set off an alarm at a city facility on East L Street.

6:38 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine why a burglar alarm at a West K street residence was activated.

7:21 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine why a burglar alarm at a business on Indiana was activated.

7:55 p.m.: Police received a report of someone n the roof of an East K Street building.  The person was gone when officers arrived on the scene.

8:13 p.m.: A citizen on West G Street asked for advice regarding a difficult neighbor.

8:21 p.m.: That party on Drolette got a little too loud a little too early so neighbors called the police.  Officers spoke to the hosts who agreed to turn down the volume.

8:34 p.m.: Police were asked to document a possible case of trespassing on East K Street.

8:37 p.m.: Police began in investigation into an alleged dog biting incident on Southampton Road.

11:35 p.m.: Police received a report of an argument between a step-father and step-son on East K Street.  Officers convinced the involved parties to separate for the balance of the evening.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
