Benicia Police Log: Fight on West K and Domestic Violence Arrest on Channing

The following information was supplied by the Benicia Police Department, and unless otherwise noted, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

This is the crime bulletin for Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from the Benicia Police Department

2:57 a.m.: Officers separated some Military East family members who were in the midst of a dispute.

8:01 a.m.: Police were dispatched to East Second Street after receiving reports of a reckless driver.

9:46 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an Industrial East business.

12:24 p.m.: Police were dispatched to West I Street after receiving a report of a possible drug violation.  Investigating officers found no one breaking the law.

1:11 p.m.: A citizen on Carlisle reported a case of identity theft.

1:27 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a suspicious vehicle that was reported on Tyler Street.

2:15 p.m.: Police were dispatched to the vicinity of Brentwood after receiving reports of gunshots in the area.  Investigating officers were unable to locate anyone firing a weapon.

3:05 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a West K Street residence.

3:39 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Lindo Street residence.

3:48 p.m.: There was a suspicious person reported on Rose Drive.

3:50 p.m.: Police were dispatched to the Solano Square shopping center to talk to some skateboarders who were doing some unauthorized grinding.

4:54 p.m.: Police were dispatched to West K Street where a fight was reported.   Officers warned the combatants.

6:21 p.m.: The large truck that was creating a hazard on Buena Vista was gone before officers arrived on the scene.

9:28 p.m.: Police received a report of a possible drunk driver on I-780.  Investigating officers found the driver had not been drinking.

9:43 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a residence on Greenbrier.

11:05 p.m.: Officers arrested a 34-year-old Berkeley man for domestic violence.  The arrest was made on Channing.

11:15 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Military East business.

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
