Benicia Police Log: Garage Doors Left Open, Kids Sneaking into a Pool and a Family Yelling at a Raccoon

12:33 a.m.: Police received a report of fireworks being set off in the area of Southampton Road but couldn’t locate anyone in the area.

1:05 a.m.: Officers issued a case number for a repossession on West J Street.

3:23 a.m.: Officers contacted a resident on Cambridge who left the garage door open.  The door was secured.

3:25 a.m.: A resident on Capitol left their garage door open.  Again, officers were able to contact the homeowner and get the door secured.

3:30 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Southampton Road.

3:36 p.m.: Officers responded to a resident who found a scooter on East D Street.

3:54 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into the theft of medicine from an unsecured vehicle on Southampton Road.

4:13 p.m.: A customer at a Southampton Road business called police when an employee acted rudely.

4:34 p.m.: Officers spoke to some kids who tried to sneak into a pool at a Southampton Road apartment complex.

6:04 p.m.: Some kids got into a fight on Southampton Road.  Officers talked to the kids and their parents.

6:09 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate a solicitor who was knocking on doors on Bradford.

9:17 p.m.: Officers didn’t find anything unusual on Casa Grande after receiving a report of shots being fired in the area.

10:27 p.m.: Officers responding to a report of a family disturbance on Dale found the family members were not yelling at each other.  They were yelling at a raccoon.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
