Benicia Police Log: Lots of Arrests – Some for Drugs, Some for Drunk Driving, One for both

Friday, September 21, 2012 

12:10 a.m.: The owners of a First Street business were asked to keep their patrons quiet.

12:22 a.m.: A guy was walking down West J Street while yelling.  Officers talked to him and he stopped yelling.

12:40 a.m.: The host of a loud party on West Second Street agreed to turn down the volume.

7:18 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a West Channel Road business.

8:10 p.m.: Police received a report of a court order violation of a child exchange.  It was determined that one of the parents was at the wrong address.

9:04 p.m.: A resident on Gill Way asked for police assistance in removing a drunk guest from the home.  The drunk guy got a ride from a friend before officers arrived.

9:06 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East O Street home.

9:34 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a family disturbance on McCall.

11:43 p.m.: Officers opened a missing person investigation.  The person went missing from a residence on Church Street.

11:46 p.m.: Police received a report of a loud banging noise on Jackson Street.  Investigating officers didn’t hear the noise.

 12:08 a.m.: Police received a report of loud people on First Street.  Officers were unable to find anyone being inappropriately loud.

12:26 a.m.: Police received a report of a woman missing from a residence on Vincent.  The woman showed up while officers were on the scene.

12:47 a.m.: Police were unable to find the couple on Vista Grande who were having a loud argument.

1:26 a.m.: Officers spoke to a couple on First Street who were having an argument.  The couple agreed to take a cab home.

4:42 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on Bayshore Road.

5:23 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on Oregon.

5:32 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a First Street business.

8:12 a.m.: Officers talked told some people not to use trails through private property.

8:22 a.m.: A juvenile reported missing from a Church Street residence was found and returned home.

10:19 a.m.: Police opened an investigation into a burglary at a business on Getty.

10:39 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at business on Sprig.

11:59 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a First Street business.

 12:12 p.m.: A guy yelling into a phone on East L Street was in the midst of an argument with his mom.

12:38 p.m.: there was a non-injury traffic collision on First Street.

12:41 p.m.: Officers spoke to a man who reportedly urinated in a parking lot on Military East.

2:12 p.m.: Officers gave advice to a resident on East O Street regarding unwanted phone calls.

3:46 p.m.: A 38-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both from San Pablo were arrested on a number of charges including burglary, being in possession of burglary tools, conspiracy and being in possession of stolen property.

5:57 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a verbal altercation that happened on Rose Drive.

7:22 p.m.: Police received a report of dogs barking on O’Farrell.  Officers spoke to the dogs’ people who agreed to take the hounds in for the evening.

7:49 p.m.: Officers were asked to be on hand while a man retrieved his personal property.  He failed to give officers an accurate address where he would be retrieving the items.

9:01 p.m.: A 52-year-old Benicia woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued in Solano County.  The arrest took place on Warwick.

9:19 a.m.: Police received a report of fireworks possibly being set off  in the vicinity of Shirley.

9:40 p.m.: A dog was barking on London.  Officers left a message for the dog’s people.

9:55 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Industrial Way business.

10:01 p.m.: Officers offered counsel to a father and son who were in the midst of a loud argument.

10:13 p.m.: The person hosting a loud party on Alta Loma agreed to turn down the volume.

10:17 p.m.: A resident on Mills reported a neighbor’s garage door was left open.  Officers secured the door and left a note for the resident.

10:37 p.m.: Police received a report of a man jumping out of the bushes at a Periwinkle residence.  Officers talked ot the homeowners who said nothing was missing from either the home or their unlocked car.

10:41 p.m.: The loud party on Laurel was some guys shooting hoops.  They agreed to go inside.

11:30 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a possible case of battery that occurred on East H Street.

Sunday, September 23, 2012

12:26 a.m.: A resident on Harbor Vista asked for advice from officers about unwanted harassing phone calls.

12:43 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a resident on Sandy.

2:27 a.m.: Police searched for but were unable to find three people who were walking around on Hillcrest and appeared to be drink.

2:57 a.m.: Officers spoke to a group of people in Alvarez Park who were being very noisy.

3:27 a.m.: A 27-year-old American Canyon man was arrested for being drunk in public.  The arrest took place on East Second Street.

6:15 p.m.: There was a report of vandalism on Southampton Road.  It was determined that the vandalism had been done some time ago.

6:43 p.m.: A 36-year-old Benicia man was arrested on East Third Street on a variety of drug related charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of concentrated cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence and a probation violation.

8:04 p.m.: A 42-year-old Benician was arrested for drunk driving on East G Street.

8:07 p.m.: Officers received a noise complaint on Vista Grande.  No one was home at the residence where the noise was coming from.

9:21 p.m.: An 18-year-old female transient was arrested on Military East.  She was allegedly driving a stolen car while in possession of methamphetamine for sale.

9:43 p.m.: Officers opened a missing person investigation.  The person is missing from a home on Carlisle.

9:47 p.m.: Police received a report of loud people on a patio on First Street.  The people were not on the patio when officers arrived.

11:43 p.m.: A suspicious person was spotted on Columbus Parkway.  The person was gone when officers arrived.

11:57 p.m.: Officers once again looked for the suspicious person on Columbus and once again didn’t find him.

 

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
