Benicia Police Log: Loud Music on Buena Vista, Person Missing From Church Street

12:16 a.m.: a 21-year-old Thermal man was arrested on East Second Street.  Officers suspected the man was under the influence of drugs.

7:10 a.m.: The suspicious people spotted at an empty house on El Bonito were contractors.

8:27 a.m.: A suspicious person reported in an East L Street alley was gone when officers arrived to investigate.

10:52 a.m.: A church van parked on West 11th Street was vandalized.

11:37 a.m.: A home on East H Street was burglarized.  Police were unable to determine a point of entry.

11:58 a.m.: Police arrested two juveniles for graffiti.

12:45 p.m.: Police received a report of kids smoking pot on Southampton Road.  They could find the kids.

1:40 p.m.: A car was blocking a First Street driveway.

3:09 p.m.: There were moderate injuries when a car and a bicycle tangled on Military West.

3:12 p.m.: The kid who was reported missing from an East Third Street residence was located at school.

4:22 p.m.: Officers separated two people involved in a verbal altercation on Southampton Road.

4:36 p.m.: An East Second Street business reported a theft.

4:58 p.m.: Officers spoke to some solicitors on Columbia who didn’t have city permits.

6:59 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into a dog fight on West K Street.

7:40 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Bay Vista business.

8:06 p.m.: A resident on Southampton Road wanted advice regarding a child.

8:28 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on Bayshore Road.

8:39 p.m.: A Cooper Drive resident reported her door was open when she arrived home.  Officers did a walk though of the home and found nothing amiss.

8:48 p.m.: A resident on East K Street asked for advice regarding an ex husband who showed up unexpectedly.

9:13 p.m.: Officers documented the theft of a tool box from an East Third Street location.

9:20 p.m.: Officers opened a missing person investigation.  The person is missing from a Church Street residence.

10:51 p.m.: Officers spoke to a resident on Sanborn who was revving his car’s engine and bothering a neighbor.

11:41 p.m.: Officers spoke to the people on Buena Vista who were playing their music loudly.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
