This is the crime bulletin for Monday, September 2, 2013 from the Benicia Police Department.
7:53 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Military West business.
8:11 a.m.: A resident on Gill Way failed to turn off the burglar alarm in a timely fashion.
8:30 a.m.: Police determined the two people spotted on East Fifth Street were not drunk.
10:15 a.m.: The owner of a barking dog on Bayview was warned.
11:10 a.m.: A vehicle was towed from Lopes Road.
11:40 a.m.: Police opened an investigation into the theft of a car from Grant Street.
12:18 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Devonshire where they investigated a suspicious circumstance.
12:36 p.m.: A resident on West Seaview accidentally dialed 911.
7:38 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to West Third Street where it was reported a fight had broken out. The subjects involved claimed they were “just playing around”.
7:52 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Church Lane where they intervened in a family disturbance.
8:04 p.m.: A 36-year-old Vallejo man was arrested for driving on a suspended license and a probation violation.
9:15 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to East Fourth Street where they found two people in a loud argument. The arguers quieted down after speaking to officers.
11:14 p.m.: Officers made quick work of locating a juvenile who was reported missing from a Greenbrier home.
Editor’s Note: Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
