Benicia Police Log: Missing Girl is Found, Harassing Messages Received

1:50 a.m.: A citizen on East Fourth Street thought someone was trying to get into the residence.  Officers checked the area but didn’t find anything suspicious.

7:48 a.m.: Officers documented the theft of some items from a vehicle on Military East.

9:05 a.m.: Officers were called to a home on Heather where a child was refusing to go to summer school.  Officers convinced the child to go to school.

10:43 a.m.: Police received a report that jewelry had been stolen from a residence on East O Street.

12:09 p.m.: Police received a report of kids throwing rocks at cars on West K Street.  Officers were unable to locate the rock throwers.

4:10 p.m.: A resident on Baker asked police to contact a person who was sending threatening texts and Facebook posts.  Officers had a little chat with the sender.

4:18 p.m.: Officers documented the theft of items from a car parked at Solano Square.

10:31 p.m.: A resident on Cheryl reported receiving threatening phone calls from an ex.  Officers took the time to talk to the ex about the appropriateness of his actions.

11:15 p.m.: Police received a report of a missing 15-year-old girl from a Military East residence.  Officers located the girl and saw that she go home safely.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
