Benicia Police Log: Neighbor Dispute on Channing, Family Dispute on Carsten, Police Polish Counseling Skills

3:14 p.m.: Officers began investigating the truancy record of a Wainwright resident.

3:38 p.m.: Police received a report of a stolen cell phone at Benicia High School.  The school resource officer will investigate.

3:54 p.m.: A business on First Street reported a man threatening employees.   Officers were unable to find the man.

5:24 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a West Industrial Way business.

5:35 p.m.: Officers spoke to the owner of a car that was parked in a fire lane on Shirley.  The owner agreed to move the car.

6:10 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on East Second Street.  There was damage to city property.

6:57 p.m.: Officers offered counseling to a pair of Channing Circle neighbors who were acting in less than neighborly fashion toward one another.

7:02 p.m.: The two kids who were playing in the middle of East Fifth Street were gone when officers arrived to discuss traffic safety with them.

7:40 p.m.: Officers provided counseling to members of a family on Carsten who were having a rather heated argument.

7:41 p.m.: Police received a report of a dog on Buena Vista that was barking all day.  Officers were unable to find the hound.

8:08 p.m.: Police received a report of a man who violated a child visitation order.  The man was gone when officers arrived.

8:39 p.m.: A man walking and yelling on East Second Street appeared drunk to the people who called to report him.   The man had disappeared before officers arrived on the scene.

9:55 p.m.: Police received a report of a possible drunk driver on East Second Street.  Officers responding to the report were unable to find a drunk person driving a car in the area.

 

 

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
