Benicia Police Log: No Alarms, A Couple of Fender Benders and an Off-Road Motorcycle in the Open Space

11:16 a.m.: Officers secured a door left open by a resident on West J Street.

12:48 p.m.: A resident on Kearney reported the screens on a house had been tampered with.  A Realtor at the house reported that no tampering with screens had taken place.

1:27 p.m.: A seemingly dazed person was walking on Interstate 780.  The dazed person was given a lift to Southampton Center.

1:49 p.m.: A resident on Southampton Road reported that a restraining order was being violated.  The resident was receiving unwanted phone calls from someone in jail.

3:18 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on Military East.

6:04 p.m.: A reported hit and fun turned out to be more hit than run as the involved parties exchanged information.

7:01 p.m.: There was a report of a man riding an off-road style motorcycle in the open space off Hastings Drive.

9:38 p.m.: Police received a report of a loud explosion from inside a warehouse on Getty.  Officers could find no evidence of an explosion during a check of the area.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
