Benicia Police Log: Noises on Bradford and Old Guys Partying Hard on London

The following information was supplied by the Benicia Police Department, and unless otherwise noted, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

This is the crime bulletin for July 19-21, 2013  from the Benicia Police Department

Friday, July 19, 2013

12:36 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Rose Drive home.

1:30 a.m.: Officers were unable to locate a group of kids who were reportedly raising a ruckus on Military West.

3:04 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at an East Second Street business.

4:19 a.m.: Police were called to an East Third Street home because of a disturbance.  They arrested a 23-year-old Vallejo man for domestic violence.

11:2- a.m.: Prescription drugs were reported stolen from a home on West Seaview.

11:47 a.m.: It was determined that an abandoned car on East Third Street was stolen in Oakland.

12:27 p.m.: Someone scrawled a derogatory word on the sidewalk in the vicinity of Stoneman using mustard.  Public Works was called in to remove the mustard.

12:38 p.m.: A man and woman were involved in a verbal dispute on West H Street.  Arriving officers separated them, then offered counseling to the woman.

9:53 p.m.: Some kids were threatening each other on West L Street.

1o:40 p.m.: Officers spoke to the people involved in the domestic disturbance on McAllister.

11:17 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on Military East.

11:39 p.m.: An 80-year-old Vallejo man was arrested on First Street for an outstanding warrant.

Saturday, July 20, 2013

1:18 a.m.: Police received a report of underage drinking and driving on Sunset.  Investigating officers found a party breaking up and no evidence of drinking.

2:14 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on Sprig.

6:55 a.m.: Officers spoke to a couple who were having a loud early morning argument.

8:17 a.m.: An employee at a First Street business failed to turn off the burglar alarm.

8:19 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a home on Olive Branch.

9:12 a.m.: An employee at a Southampton Road business failed to turn off the burglar alarm in a timely fashion.

11:19 a.m.: A set of keys was found on East H Street.

12:10 p.m.: Someone stole the license plates off a car parked on Hastings.

12:38 p.m.: The car alarm that was sounding on Semple Crossing had quieted by the time officers arrived.

1:11 p.m.: Officers spoke to a solicitor who didn’t have a license to solicit in Benicia.

3:32 p.m.: Officers warned a citizen who committed an alcohol violation on Buena Vista.

4:52 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a business on Oregon.

5:51 p.m.: Two neighbors on East H Street got into an argument.

7:06 p.m.: A man reported losing his wallet in the vicinity of the Southampton Shopping Center.  He lost the wallet in March.

7:51 p.m.: Some people on London were throwing a birthday party for someone turning 60.  They were asked to turn down the music.

10:04 p.m.: The suspicious car spotted on East I Street was driven by a person visiting friends in the area.

10:05 a.m.: Police received a report of shots fired in the vicinity of Rose Drive.  Investigating officers didn’t hear anything and didn’t find any evidence.

10:35 p.m.: Police received a report of a group of people fighting on East Third Street.  They were gone when officers arrived.

10:54 p.m.: Police dispatched to East Third Street where arrested a 49-year-old Benicia man for domestic violence.

11:41 p.m.: Officers went to Channing where they were looking for a car with three people inside.  The car was gone when they arrived on the scene.

12:32 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Military East business.

1:54 a.m.: Officers were unable to find the car parked on First Street that was playing loud music and had a crowd of people around it.

2:22 a.m.: A woman on East Fourth Street reported someone was throwing things through her window.  Arriving officers didn’t find anyone in the area.

3:45 a.m.: Police were dispatched to Bradford where a resident reported hearing strange noises coming from the side of the house.   Officers searched the area but didn’t see anyone.

4:44 a.m.: An employee at a Bayshore Road business failed to turn off the burglar alarm in a timely fashion.

12:13 p.m.: Some neighbors on East H Street were feuding over a Juniper bush.

2:35 p.m.: A resident on Piercy reported a scam associated fees charged for delivering an over purchased through craig’s list.

4:56 p.m.: An employee at a Southampton Road business reported receiving verbal and text threats from a worker at a neighboring business.  Investigating officers found no employee matching the description of the person who made the alleged threats.

10:23 p.m.: The car that was reportedly stopped in the middle of the road near Anita was gone when officers arrived on the scene.

11:29 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Military East business.

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
