Benicia Police Log: Something Borrowed Wasn't Returned, A Barking Dog and One Car Burglary

12:34 a.m.: A burglar alarm was activated at a Southampton road business but investigating officers found everything was secure.

2:03 a.m.: There was a noise complaint from a resident on Riverview but the noise had stopped by the time officers arrived.

2:12 a.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a hit and run on East Second Street.

3:24 a.m.: A resident on Snapdragon reported suspicious activity.  Officers found everything to be secure upon arrival.

6:50 a.m.: A vehicle driving around the Panorama Drive was unfamiliar to a resident.  Investigating officers found the driver was picking up e-waste in the area.

8:32 a.m.: A resident on East N Street asked officers to contact a friend who had borrowed a car but failed to return it.

8:58 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer was dispatched to find an inured fox on Hastings.

9:50 a.m.: A landlord asked officers to standby while a walk-through was conducted at a property on Vincent.

10:00 a.m.: A burglar alarm was accidentally activated on Willow.

10:16 a.m.: A vehicle that appeared to be abandoned on East Seaview will be towed as soon as the owner can arrange it.

10:31 a.m.: A vehicle on McCall was burglarized.

10:53 a.m.: Officers received a report of a dog barking on Brentwood.

11:06 a.m.: Officers had a car towed from East Second Street.  The person driving the vehicle had a suspended license.

11:26 a.m.: There was a car parked on Cambridge that was unfamiliar to a resident.  Investigating officers found the vehicle belonged to someone ding work in the area.

11:38 a.m.: Two men who were soliciting On Regis were told of the need to obtain a soliciting license at City Hall.

11:55 a.m.: A vehicle stolen in Benicia was recovered in Pinole.

12:08 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle seen driving in the vicinity of London was gone when officers arrived.

1:29 p.m.: Officers gave some advice to a landlord who is having tenant troubles on East L Street.

3:11 p.m.: A woman on Poppy reported that her mail was dumped on her neighbor’s lawn.

3:15 p.m.: There was a domestic dispute on Columbus.  Officers successfully intervened.

4:18 p.m.: The owner of a boat parked for several days on Alta Loma was told that the boat needed to be moved.

6:20 p.m.: Officers intervened when a father and son on Mills got into a verbal altercation.

6:40 p.m.: Officers began investigating an alleged violation of a court order on Military East.

6:49 p.m.: A citizen on Piercy asked for police assistance in retrieving some property.

6:54 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into the theft of a wallet on West Channel Road.

7:11 p.m.: Somebody on East Second Street accidentally dialed 911.

7:58 p.m.: A resident on Rose Drive was suspicious of a rental truck parked in the area.

9:31 p.m.: Officers to a few minutes to talk to a resident on Hillcrest who had the music volume a bit too loud for the taste of the neighbors.

9:47 p.m.: A business alarm was activated accidentally by the someone at the business.
