Benicia Police Log: Suspicious Persons, Suspicious Cars and An Arguing Family

3:35 a.m.: There was an unexplained alarm activation at a business on Sprig.

7:10 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business on East Industrial where an alarm was activated.  They found nothing amiss.

10:09 a.m.: An employee at a Hillcrest business accidentally activated the burglar alarm.

11:03 a.m.: Officers talked to the people involved in a verbal altercation on Military East.

12:00 p.m.: Officers spoke to the people involved in a verbal altercation on Ardmore.

3:38 p.m.: Officers opened an investigation into a case of fraud perpetrated on East Second Street.

3:47 p.m.: Police received a report of a possible drunk driver on East Second Street.  They were able to locate the car and driver.  A sobriety test determined that the driver was within the legal limit.

4:58 p.m.: Officers responded to a residence on East Seventh Street where they spoke to members of a family who were having a dispute.

5:46 p.m.: Police were alerted to a possible parking violation on East D Street.  Investigating officers were unable to find any cars parked illegally.

6:35 p.m.: Officers were asked to document the theft of some items from an East H Street residence.

7:29 p.m.: Police received a report of juveniles on top of a building on Lincoln.  Officers spoke to the kids.

10:42 p.m.: A resident on Viewmont reported that two people were hanging out in the driveway of a residence and when confronted they left in a vehicle.  Officers searched the area for the car and occupants but were unable to locate either.

10:42 p.m.: Police received a report of juveniles being loud behind a church on Southampton Road.  Officers checked the area but were unable to find the kids.

11:oo p.m.: A resident on West Ninth Street reported a suspicious car in the area.  The car was gone when officers arrived to investigate.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
