Benicia Police Log: Two Drunk Drivers, the Disappearing Barking Dog and a Fearless, Courageous Cat

The following information was supplied by the Benicia Police Department, and unless otherwise noted, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

 

This is the crime bulletin for Sunday, July 28, 2013 from the Benicia Police Department

12:01 a.m.: Police arrested a 22-year-old Vallejo woman on East Third Street for suspected drunk driving.

12:10 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a First Street business.

12:41 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Clearview residence.

1:12 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Ware residence.

1:18 a.m.: Police were dispatched to East Fifth Street where a citizen reported hearing shots fired.  Officers found and heard nothing in the area.

9:54 a.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on West J Street.

11:44 a.m.: A car parked in a handicap spot on Southampton Road and without a proper placard was gone before officers arrived on the scene.

12:35 p.m.: Officers were unable to locate the suspicious vehicle reported on East Second Street.

2:09 p.m.: There was a non-injury traffic collision on First Street.

3:09 p.m.: A vehicle parked on private property on first Street was towed.

3:18 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a residence on Church Street.

4:47 p.m.: Officers were able to calm an arguing family on West L Street.

5:09 p.m.: The people playing loud music on the car stereo at the First Street spit were convinced by officers to lower the volume.

6:34 p.m.: The disappearing barking dog made a cameo appearance on Eaton.

10:40 p.m.: A 37-year-old Benicia man was arrested on Military East for suspected drunk driving.

11:09 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a residence on Rose Drive where a raccoon was reported in the house.  Before officers arrived, the family cat chased the raccoon away.

Editor’s Note:  Sometimes you might find items in the police log that seem humorous but please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
