Benicia Police Log: Two Handguns Stolen on East L, Kids Smoking Cigs on East Fourth

6:19 a.m.: Police received a report of a dumpster diver at a housing complex on Southampton Road.  Investigating officers could not locate anyone in a dumpster.

7:11 a.m.: A resident reported the theft of two handguns from the trunk of his unsecured car that was parked on East L Street.

8:15 a.m.: Police received a report of kids sitting on a car and smoking cigarettes on East Fourth Street. 

10:38 a.m.: A bicycle was stolen from a First Street address.

2:52 p.m.: Police were notified of solicitors on Byron.

6:06 p.m.: Police opened an investigation into a residential burglary on East H Street.

6:59 p.m.: Officers determined that a 911 call was the result of an accidental dial.

7:43 p.m.: There was a vehicle complaint on Southampton Road.

8:10 p.m.: Police received a report of a vehicle that spun out on the freeway then proceeded to exit the freeway y use of an onramp.   The CHP investigated.

10:56 p.m.: An employee at a Solano Square business inadvertently activated an alarm.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
