There weren’t many calls to the Benicia Police Department on Monday, September 17, but that doesn’t mean the patrol officers weren’t busy. On days when few calls come in, the police are being proactive with traffic stops and follow-up investigations.
12:16 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a Hastings Drive building.
6:23 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a First Street business.
7:16 a.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at business on East Industrial.
5:15 p.m.: Police received a report of a verbal altercation on Southampton Road. The participants were gone when officers arrived.
8:16 p.m.: Officers were unable to determine what activated an alarm at a West Channel Road business.
9:37 p.m.: Police received a report of a loud bang accompanied by a flash in the area around Sunset. Officers did not find anything alarming when an area check was done.
Editor’s Note: Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
