Benicia Police Log: Woman Walking in Street, Alarms Sounding for No Apparent Reason

12:14 a.m.: A citizen on First Street alleges he was threatened by a man who left the area before officers arrive.

12:58 a.m.: There was an accidental activation of a burglar alarm at a business on First Street.

1:11 a.m.: Officers couldn’t find a reason for an alarm activation at a Columbus Parkway business.

2:35 a.m.: It is a mystery why there was an alarm activation at a Bayshore Road business.

8:46 a.m.: A resident on McAllister failed to turn off the burglar alarm in a timely fashion.

10:35 a.m.: Officers received a report of metal being stolen from a utility pole on East Industrial.

11:02 a.m.: The guy taking the screen off a window at a West Ninth Street home was there to wash the windows.

12:00 p.m.: Officers took the time to explain the proper places to ride skateboards to a group of juveniles on East Fifth Street.

12:47 p.m.: Officers talked to a woman who was walking in the street and suggested she might be safer on the sidewalk.  She apparently agreed.

2:06 p.m.: Officers talked to the man who was lying in the back of his truck clothed only in his underwear.  The man was catching some rays.

3:59 p.m.: An employee at a business on Bayshore Road failed to turn on the alarm properly.

5:52 p.m.: There was a verbal altercation on Rose Drive.

6:59 p.m.: Officers helped a family on West L Street resolve a dispute.

10:50 p.m.: A burglar alarm at an East Second Street business malfunctioned.

11:21 p.m.: The suspicious persons spotted on Jackson Street were gone when officers arrived.

11:26 p.m.: The guys who’d been hanging out in a car parked on Kearney were not in the car when officers arrived.

Editor’s Note:  Even though I inject a bit of humor into these police logs, please remember, the men and women whose job it is to protect us rarely find it funny when they are approaching a drunk person or a building where the alarm is going off.
