Benicia Resident Arrested on Suspicion of Selling Oxycodone

John Carmody was busted by undercover agents in Vallejo Tuesday night.

An undercover sting in Vallejo resulted in the arrest of a Benicia resident Tuesday night, according to a Napa Special Investigations Bureau press release.

The bureau arrested 27-year-old John Carmody on two counts of suspicion of selling oxycodone in the Costco shopping center on Plaza Drive. Carmody was attempting to sell 40 pills to undercover agents after negotiating the sale of the pills in Napa County, according to the press release. A search of Carmody’s home turned up a prescription bottle of oxycodone in someone else’s name.

The press release also said that Carmody had sold drugs to agents earlier that week and didn’t have a prescription for them.

Bureau Lt. Leroy Anderson said Carmody has already been arraigned and charged on both counts. Carmody had only been arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public six years ago prior to Tuesday’s arrest. Carmody is currently out on bail.
